With a POD no earlier than January 1st, 1925, have a three-way World War 2 between the US and Europe, the USSR, and Japan.

I think that's a bit ASB, especially since Japan would be so weak compared to the others.

I'm not saying they would win-they'd be the first to lose probably, with the Allies and Russia fighting over the scraps.

Are we talking just the Japan Home Islands, or the Japanese Empire; Co-Prosperity Sphere and all?

If A, then Japan is toast, the Soviets most likely gobble it up before the US can react.

If B, then things turn 1984 very quickly.
