Vice-President James Polk: Two term vice-president to current president Lewis Cass. Senator Stephen Douglas: Senator from Illinois. Anti-Slavery. Justice Levi Woodbury: Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Secretary James Buchanan: Secretary of State under Lewis Cass. Senator Franklin Pierce: Former senator from New Hampshire.
