Maximum Thread Length

Given that there are page view limits here, so a long thread doesn't have to load en toto as it used to, are there are any practical limits on posts per thread ?

For example, the 'Central Powers win 1918' thread that I started now has over 100 posts - should this be a worry ? Is it going to conk out at some stage and always crash, or load too slow ? Given that it splits the thread into sub-pages is there a limit to these ?

Or even for other reasons, is there a maximum thread length people would like to see befoie a continuator thread is begun to pick it up ?

I've been wondering about this myself, is there a reasonable place where people will want Chapter II to start and Chapter I to end?

I will say, that on long threads you don't have to page through them, so it isn't too much trouble, but it would be a good thing to know.

I don't think there is a maximum thread length.
