Blackadder WI: Tim McInnerny as Percy Stays.

so just a thought.

Tim McInnerny Didn't reprise his Role as Lord Percy in Blackadder the Third because he feared being Typecasted as an Idiot. so he Declined, Hugh Laurie as George was brought in...and the rest is history.

so suppose McInnerny reprised his role. How do the Third and Fourth (if there is one) series of Blackadder go?
what happens to Hugh Laurie?
Will there be another character similar to George or not?

I liked the later seasons more than the first one. That's not necessarily McInnerny's fault, but I think this WI wouldn't make Blackadder better.

Hugh will still do alright outside 'Blackadder', and on the show he still gives us such gems from his role as Prince Ludwig, like, "I shall return and wreak my rewengey!"

I don't think this makes a huge difference, and it may not even change the casting for the fourth series, as McInnerny seems like a better Captain Darling than a Lt George.

There are a couple of things I would like to have seen (a.) Rik Mayall's Lord Flashheart appearing in series three as Lord Byron. That is so obvious, I can't believe they didn't think of it (b.) Miranda Richardson's nurse character in the fourth series should have been called Edith Cavell. In fact that's what I'd always though her name was, it was only when watching the programme on my DVR about a week ago that I caught that her name was 'Mary Fletcher Brown'.

Or is it 'Maria Fleitscher Braun'?
