A collection of 11 stories dealing with alternate paths of history including stories by Stephen Baxter and Gene Wolf. Robert Charles Wilson deals with a world in which there was no American Civil War whilst Stephen Baxter's Unblinking Eye is set in a world where the Incas are discovering and education the old world. However many of the stories verge on the edge of fantasy such as Thoeodora Goss's Csilla's Story. The scenarios seem to lack plausbility for example the Holy City and EM'S Reptile Farm which has a scenario of Crusaders leading a crusade in America.

Got the book.The Wilson and Baxter are by far the best.Try another book called Future Americas. In the collection you mentioned I think a lot of the stories are lukewarm other than the other two.I got the book because I assumed it would be AH.Hmm!
