Only noticed this this afternoon, so a bit rushed. As with others, the red and yellow are for England and Charles I. The ship and the blue are for North Carolina's maritime history and Sir Walter Raleigh.

I'm post-close time so I'll understand if my entry is rejected. However, here is a North carolina flag based of the 9 stripes of the Sons of Liberty flag.

Decided to give this a shot. Flag is from a North American Federation that united over a much worse Cold War. NORAD lead to even greater military integration with economic then political union later.

Well, here's mine of the Dominion of British North America.
It's basically a defaced red ensign of the UK. Each outer star represents a Province. The inner star represents the Dominion as a whole and points down to represent that it is the British lands of the setting sun ie the west. |

Well, it's not quite a North American Union, but it does control the entirety of North America. And South America. And Oceania. And has a presence in Asia and Africa. It's a flag for the USA of Eurofed's Ameriwank TL "United States of the Americas and Oceania".

Good after-noon!
![]() I have no idea what sort of time-line this would be from, but it certainly looks alternate to me! The figures at the bottom are holding up the globe, rather than simply throwing their arms up in celebration, if it isn't clear enough. ![]() __________________ [VALYA ANTADEN REKTAVISO] [GENERAL: Profile // Gallery // Copyright] [WEEKLY FLAG CHALLENGE: New Challenges & Previous Winners // Discussion & Entries] |

Flag Challenge Entry
Flag of the Holy Reformed Empire of the Americas
During the Protestant reformations in europe, the American colonies became a religious refuge for people across all of Europe. The Pope in Rome actively encouraged the expulsion of heretics across the sea to remove their taint from Europe, saying "Let them congregate with the natural heathens of the far-side of the world". Kings and Queens of Europe took the opportunity to rid their lands of the protestants and troublemakers. The HREofA is a loose congregation of protestant states currently centered on the Free Port of Nieuw Amsterdam. Every 24 years the Bishops Congregation changes home, and the flag changes so that the field reflects the culture of the housing state.

![]() Here's my entry for the new challenge, not especially original, tbh, and it does not need any particular explanation, I guess ![]() ![]() ...and just for the fun, and because I have nothing better to do at work today: here is the Presidential Standard (for use in Lithuania, I couldn't think of a border that suits Poland )![]() Last edited by fabrondi; November 11th, 2009 at 03:29 PM.. |

I hope this fits in with the rules, the state flag of the Republic of Poland, Lithuania and Ruthenia (the civil flag doesn't include the coat of arms). The three stripes represent the three nations of the 'triple republic', with the thin white stripes representing the unity between them.

The flag of Iceland. The central circular design is based on the Ansuz rune, the 'God rune' which ITL has evolved to represent the Christian God in Scandinavia, taking the place of the cross IOTL. The blue and white represent the sea and the land respectively. The five stripes are simply echoing the central design.
Hopefully this might inspire some other entries! |
