Admiral Kolchak more successful

I'd love to watch the new Kolchak biopic which has just come out...

So, WI Kolchak had indeed been more successful against the Reds in northern Russia ? WI he'd been more successful in courting the support of potential allies whom he OTL alienated, such as the Czech legion, the Baltic states, Finland or Poland ?

Yeah, the basic fact is that the Reds had otten ahold of the middle of Russia, the industrial heartland, which combined with their advantages in organisational unity and whatknot put the Whites, a divided and peripheral movement, in a hopeless position. No doubt there are butterflies to helping them out a little, though: maybe we can kill come prominent Reds, cause a bit of diplomatic trouble... Red victory may have been essentially unavoidable, but a time of such chaos probably drips with potential PoDs.

And perhaps...

If you were to have him control his troops better - they spent more of their time making pogroms on the Jews than they did fighting the Soviets - perhaps he'd have done better. And gotten more international support.

i tried to watch a trailer for the film but not knowin how to read cyrillic kinda got in the way, tho the still pics looked cool. can someone post a link to the trailer?

Not to mention that Kolchak wasn't the biggest threat the Reds faced during the civil war. That honor goes to Denekin and the Ukrainian/Crimean Whites.

Methink you mean Denikin's troops when you think about pogromists. Kolchak, by virtue of operating in mainly Jewish-free Siberia, didn't have a lot of pogroms. He even had such an oddity as White Jewish regiment, raised in Chita.
