General's Gratitude- de Gaulle wins '69 referendum

WI le General won the 1969 decentralization referendum? Assuming he still dies in 1970 as per OTL, will Pompidou still be his successor? Butterflies on French politics?

I think he might not have, there was a lot of tension between the two. Maybe De Gaulle feels emboldened and manoeuvres Pompidou out of Matignon?

Step forward Maurice Couve de Murville, giving us the bizarre scenario whereby the President of France and the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Birmingham have the same name at the same time!

Wondering if getting rid this early of Pompidou would give a real chance to Jacques Chaban Delmas
He would make a very interesting President.
