WI Truman Assassinated
WI Torresola and Collazo, two Puerto Rican nationalists who attempted to assassinate Truman in 1950, had succeeded?

Could create some interesting historical ripples. Korea would likely go longer.

Didn't For All Time deal with the assassination of the U.S. President by Puerto Rican nationalists? Might want to look there. Some pretty harsh treatment of Puerto Rico, no doubt... could lead to a forced integration or a messy abandonment.
Alben W. Barkley is President. I wonder how he'd affect the Korean War. Nuclear option used, maybe? |

One account IOTL I read had Truman popping his head out the window of Blair House to see what was happening during the shootout. His death is a real possibility.
A very pubhlic clampdown on independistas (beyond what the feds were already doing with widespread spying and disruption) would probably make PR more seperatist like Quebec. |
