No United Nations

With the failure of the League of Nations to prevent World War II, the idea of a global forum is now largely discredited. The Allies don't make the group, realizing that wars will happen whether they like it or not.

People like to joke that the UN does nothing. If it didn't exist at all, would the world be any different?

There would be no one helping the undeveloped nations. That's about it.

There would still be American, British, and Soviet investment in undeveloped nations. The proxy wars in Africa would still happen.

Also, without the UN there is no international force to go into Korea, and the Soviet Union can get directly involved instead of staying on the sidelines like they did OTL. No UN to boycott, no reason for the Soviets to hold back.

Korean War without the UN intervention may well end up resulting in a NATO vs Warsaw Pact armed struggle possibly turning into World War III. If the Warsaw Pact loses, expect to see Communism die out in most of the world.

I think it changes the details but the main lines is the same. The UN is a diplomatic system and the world already had one. I think we will see a cold war not turning hot, decolonization and the fall of communism.
