This may already be here, but the USCGC Eagle, the only other sailing ship in US service aside from the USS Constitution, began life as a Nazi training vessel, the SSS Horst Wessel.

That's really the sort of transfer one would expect of allies, not enemies.

Yeah, I was looking at the Wiki page about the Coast Guard Academy (I apparently have a cousin going there, which isn't that extraordinary, as I have more cousins than anyone could count), and I noticed the Eagle, clicked the link, and got whacked in the eyes with the great big swastika.
