Nah, the German guy is on the phone. I guess he's talking to the Canadian higher up. Those troops are probally just there to drive him to their leader to surrender once the arrangments are made or something like that.

Probably. The actual surrender of German forces in the Netherlands took place in an inn in Wageningen. Apparently, they couldn't find a typewriter anywhere so the actual surrender happened the next day after a typewriter had been found and the document typed up.

If someone from an ATL were to look at OTL, they would probably wonder the following things.

1) Why "Prussia" doesn't actually control Prussia, and why Konigsberg belongs to Russia.

2) Why the UK controls only Ulster in Ireland, rather than it being an all-or-none deal.

3) Why Kosovo is independent, but not states like Southern Sudan or Abhkazia (note: I mean nothing political by this statement).

4) Come to think of it, they would wonder about the borders of Africa in general. They look like something drawn by a lab rat high on coke, without any regard to cultural, tribal, or religious boundaries. Which makes sense, since all the Europeans were concerned about was defining their spheres of influence.

5) Why Belgium hasn't split into Flemish and Dutch parts.

6) Why Pakistan has really odd-looking borders.

According to the Business Cycle Dating Committee at the National Bureau for Economic Research, there was a period of economic expansion in the United States from June 1861 to April 1865. Now why would there be a period of economic expansion that coincides with the exact months the American Civil War started and ended?

Well, wartime frequently props up production - and considering that the ACW was arguably the first "industrial" war...

According to the tradition, the Ark is located in Ethiopia. I watched a documentary about the church where it is conserved, but nobody can see it...

But the fact that Solomon's told his son to hide the Ark in Ethiopia seems alternate
