Challenge: Greater Tibet

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to have an independent Tibetan state controlling all the territory of historic Tibet (the yellow, orange and red areas) by the present day with a POD after WWII.

Well... after WW2 China was going to be unifed one way or the other. Only real question was would it be Chiang Kai-shek or Mao Zedong's regime.

The POD being late 1946. Truman beings actively assisting the KMT against the Communists with US military forces. A progressive program first advisors and aircraft, followed with ever increasing ground forces.

Stalin sends an ultamatium to Truman demanding he pull out of China, which he pugently declines and Stalin declares war on the allies and invades China to assist Mao. Ironiclly this does have the effect of getting slowing the flow of US forces into East Asia as Europe gets the priority.

Truman sends an ultamatium of his own demanding the immediate withdrawl of Soviet forces from China lest they face the same destruction visted upon Japan.

Stalin doesn't reply and Stalingrad(symbolic strike before another ultamatium), Leningrad, Omsk and finally Moscow are destroyed. Further Allied forces had already pushed into Russia in Europe thanks to superior air support and had checked their advance into China. Stalin and Beria are soon found dead and Molotov, acting as General Secretary sues for peace.

The terms are harsh. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukaraine, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Primorsk(eastern coast of Russia) are all founded with democratic republics.

The Soviet Union is also to pay reperations to the Allies, but the communist regime is allowed to stay intact.

The Allies also help the KMT eliminate Mao's faction after the war. Though seeing China as a potential rival someday limit his expansion. Manchuria is declared independent as a democracy again, as is Xinjiang. Tibet is expanded to it's historical boundries, thus meeting the criteria of this subject.

Probably went way deeper in that than I should've. :p
