Edward the Black Prince

What would have happened if Edward had not died before his father Edward III and had been crowned. Would he be remembered as a great king and would Richard II be better prepared to rule.

Edward the Black Prince certainly had the military potential to be a great prince. Being that he was only 46 when he died, he certainly could have had a reign of at least ten or twenty years, yet things such as that depend on events.

How he would handle the things that affected Richard, such as the great Peasants' Revolt would have to stem from our knowledge of him. From a military standpoint, I have to say he would have been a good leader. How he would fare as a statesman under such pressures that kings face is unknowable.
