That's a good WI: Napoleon dies before invading Russia. Now is the question: Who will become new emperor (could be Joseph, but I'm not sure), and how will the Brits and Russians react? And what about Prussia and A-H, Nappy's allies at that time?
If there's no more war, I'd guess that the French will sooner or later give up Spain since a prolonged war would bleed them white. I read in an old lexicon that somewhen in 1814 the coalition made Napoleon an offer - they'd make peace if he'd give up everything but Italy and the Rhine border. Maybe we'd get something like that. Maybe Europe would be split into two blocks: France and its sphere of influence (Germany, A-H, Denmark, Holland, Italy, Turkey) and the rest - Britain, Russia, Sweden, Spain/Portugal. |

Hmm. That certainly seems plausible. The Austrians might enjoy the thought of having one of the Hapsburgs as regent for France.
