Obama Schroeder 08

If she had stayed in Congress, she would have had the senority to become Chair of the House Armed Service Committee, when the Democrats took over the House in 2007. With this high profile position, I believe she would have atracted the attention of the Obama as a possible running mate. How would the Obama Schroeder ticket do this year? Would McCain have picked Palin. I think so? So what would it mean that two women would be running against each other?

You are giving me a very strange visual right now.

Anyway, he's a German citizen, male, and far too much of a primadonna to accept VP.

Paul was refering to former U.S. Congresswoman Patricia Schroder of Colorado.

I know. But that's not what comes to mind first on this side of the pond.

Schroeder couldn't handle the Republican mid-term elections victory in 1994 and refused to run again in 1996.

You need to give her a reason to run for re-election again and again and again.

Personally, with Bush in office I think she would have quit anyway.

Err - everybody? If I compare it to the anglosaxon worlds (where rhethorics is held in higher esteem or so everybody says) or the romance world (with rampant corruption and characters like Sarzozy and Berlusconi)...

Bribery is different. You can't expect your buyers to actually let you make decisions.
