So I don't know what the interest will be like for this but over in the American Politics thread we were discussing alternate state flags because so many of the current ones are so terrible. We were able to find 5 projects that have created flags for all 50 States. I want to know what AH.com thinks of these attempts. If the projects use the same flag as OTL I am not going to include it so there may not always be six options.

The second, but that's more of a "less ulgy" choice, giving that's the only one that roughly respect colour rules and have a not immediatly "made in Internet" look.

Is it me or does two of those flags look the same?

Yes... I thought of only including the one but there are slight variation in star position and in color. Bressler Group specifically stated that all theirs are in a lighter/brighter shade of red and blue to be more similar to France rather than the UK.

Edit: Ninja'd

Giving the similarities on both shades between both flags*, and how they apparently justified a decision by a mainly unexistent difference, the result doesn't surprise me nearly as much now.

*There's no official colour for the French flag, but the design is still often standardized, at least for the army (presidential and ministerial official allocution tends to use other shades, but as for the differences in bands as white being much narrower, it's mainly for media purposes).

It's generally a dark blue, and a orange-red red (altough precise shades can vary)

Presidential flags tends to be lighter, but they have no official biding power.

Although I like both the OTL and the UWB designs, the UWB just seems too...soft. I can't force myself to be in any way respect it, or be awed by it, which in the end is the true purpose of any flag.

I take back what I said in the last thread. The UWB flag actually works this time.

Meanwhile the second and fourth (pretty much the same) seem like they're just asking for Little Green Men to be deployed in Phoenix.
