AHC: Major naval power based in the Eastern Mediterranean in modern times

With a POD after the treaty of Tordesillas (bonus points: after the treaty of Paris), create a major naval power by 1900 whose center is in the Easterm Mediterranean, with the following conditions:

* Control of the Bhosphorus and an alt-Suez Canal
* Dominant naval power in the Eastern Med., Black Sea, and Red Sea. Bonus points for the rest of the Med., the Indian Ocean, any anything else they can get. Double bonus for replacing the British in India.
* Strong enough to challenge the global naval dominance of any Atlantic naval power ITTL (Britain, Spain, Netherlands, etc.). This power doesn't have to be the dominant naval power in the world, but they do have to give whoever is dominant a run for their money.
* This naval power must last at least through 1900, and play a major role in any alt-World Wars in the early 20th century ITTL.

I'm particularly interested on the effects this power would have on the late colonial era and the alt-World Wars.

The only options I can find are the following:

1. The Ottoman Empire manages to modernize and liberalize from 1700 to 1900, allowing religious freedom and maintaining a hold on their vast multi-ethnic empire. 1900 is still early for the oil boom but by the mid-20th century, you can see the Turks and assorted other arabs (Iraqis) migrating south throughout the Arabian peninsula, changing the ethnic makeup of the lightly populated area and maintaining a permanent hold.

2. Napoleon manages to hang on past 1815 and the Bonapartes of France, Italy, Spain, etc, eventually overrun the Balkans and possibly Egypt/Holy Lands. Perhaps with an alliance with Russia, British India is threatened by a two way attack: France through a Suez Canal and Russia by land. This is the only thing that could overpower Britain's hold on India. Perhaps a general war could start at the time of the Sepoy Mutiny.

Except that the OP wants the centre of said naval power to in the Eastern Med. Which would require that this Napoleonic Empire lose France....

Sounds like the combination of the later POD and India is out. How about the earlier POD? Anyone want to try an earlier collapse for the Ottomans, with a more aggressive Russia, Venice, or Hapsburg empire bringing them down? Or perhaps something more exotic?
