Islas de los bandidos - A Philippines Timeline

Islas de los bandidos - A Philippines Timeline

I dedicate this timeline to my favorite filipino historian, Zeus Salazar, he is one of my inspirations in doing this timeline, I am a fan of his “PANTAYONG PANANAW” philosophy in history.

Canto I
Bolkiah conquered Manila and married the daughter of Gambang to Lontok and demanded gold tribute of from the island where Manila is.

After learning how the Sulu Sultanate ejected the Bolkiahs from Sulu, the City States of Aparri, Maluslos, the Kingdoms of Kaboloan, Kumintang, Bikol and the Igorots staged a revolt against the Bolkiahs knowing what they are doing is wrong and that the Bolkiahs are just exploiting the resources of Suvarnadvipa and did not care about the people in it.

The revolt successfully toppled the Bolkiahs from the Island ensuring that no one will harm the people of Suvarnadvipa, the Bruneians and the elites they introduced were ejected completely from the island, never to return.

The people of Suvarnadvipa or as the Tondo monarchs and its own people called it Katagalugan formed a new government in the Central plains by Suvarnadvipa, led by a new dynasty related to the old Tagalog Dynasty.

The leader of the revolt was quoted saying ’No one will conquer our own land!’

The liberation and rebirth of Suvarnadvipa and is free from the yolk of Bruneian Empire and its glorious future will happen to that country.

The new dawn opened for the country that needed rebirth and the center of trade and administration of the land moved to the town of Maluslos.

The people wondered about the liberation of the Suvarnadvipa and were happy about it..

The people in Suvarnadvipa were happy about their liberation from the Bruneian Nobility that were planted in the island by Sultan Bolkiah.

Both Muslims and non Muslims will be granted the liberty of worship in the island that is granted by the new dynasty of Suvarnadvipa.

Canto II
Brunei launched a war with Madya-as over a dispute over Palawan, Hantik was attacked by Bruneian armies and at this time, the ruler of Madya-as have mercenaries from Suvarnadvipa, Madya-as attacked Palawan in retaliation.

Palawan became a battle ground between Madya-as and Brunei which ended in the defeat of the Bruneians and because of that Brunei would lose Palawan including Balabak completely which is ceded to the Madya-as confederation.

The following year, Madya-as would attack Sulu due to the pirates from Sulu attacking the Rajahnate of Sugbu, the Madya-as would also make its victory over Sulu that Madya-as was able to gain Sugbu as a tributary Kingdom to the Confederacy and because of that Butuan and Surigao joined the confederacy as tributary Kingdoms for protection.

Armies from Suvarnadvipa helped the people of Madya-as in a succeeding war against the Bruneians, the people of Suvarnadvipa and Madya-as would help each other for their conflicts with Brunei.

Brunei would lose its own prestige due to what Suvarnadvipa and Madya-as did to it and nothing could change the fact that Brunei lost its own prestige and power due to what Madya-as, Sulu and Suvarnadvipa did to Brunei.

The Iranuns of Mindanao island have their own Maguindanao Sultanate which is at its infancy, a Princess of Maguindanao was made a bride of the Emperor of Suvarnadvipa as a bridge between the two nations.

Canto III

While the people of Selurong and Madya-as have won their own respective battles, the city of Malacca have been annexed to Portugal and the Eastern Parts of Nusa Tengarra became vassals of Portugal, in 1521, when the Magellan expedition happened and Magellan landed in Limasawa and Butuan and Sugbu recognized Spanish supremacy upon the landing of Magellan due to the protection they offer from the Tausugs.

However, for Lapu Lapu treated Magellan as a threat and battled with him in Homonhon, which ended up as a slight truce, Magellan decides to go to Madya-as, whose people reject the diplomacy of Magellan which ends up in Magellan getting killed.

The people of Sugbu and Butuan have been forced to accept Madya-as primacy in order to avoid a war against the Madya-as.

Due to the former threat of Magellan, the Confederacy of Madya-as made their government more tighter and more centralized.

In the end the encounter with Magellan made the Confederacy of Madya-as a better state.

Canto IV
The Spanish and Portuguese were told to avoid the Islands north of Sulawesi by the , apparently, the Islands of Visayas where fierce people live as they say, the Iranun and Tagalogs are very united in their own and would not want to be disturbed by the Europeans for many decades till 1570, but it ended when the troops of Limahong entered the Manila bay and pillaged the city of Tondo and Maynila City which lost its importance.

The pirates damaged the city of Tondo and Maynila causing the pirates led by Tondo to hold it, the battle was bloody and disastrous.

The Emperor decided he would allow Limahong to stay if he recognizes the Emperor of the Tagalogs to be his suzerain.

Limahong was able to establish his Kingdom in Manila as long as he recognizes the primacy of the Emperor of the Tagalogs.

That is what the Emperor would say is right so that is right.

Aside from recognizing the right of being his liege, Limahong was obliged to end the revolt of the Kumintang people and crush it which claimed many lives in Kumintang.

Note in this timeline these terms mean:
Tagalog - Luzonian
Iranun - Mindanaoan
