Cossacks of the Pampa

Somehow the colonization of South America went different, Russia becomes a new player. After getting Northern California and Alaska, the Russian Empire sets up colonies or trading posts/bases in Brazil, Argentine and Ururuay . Ships with Russian settlers, convicts, hunters, traders, cossacks and specialists from all over Europe follow.

Cossacks explore the Pampa and live a Gaucho life style.

What happened to the Spanish and Portuguese colonies that were there already? Some more explanation than "colonization went differently" is required if you want to keep this out of ASB.

Despite previous colonization of South America by Spain and Portugal , Russia bought coastal stripes and parts of the inner territories of those established Iberian colonies . So after getting Northern California and Alaska, the Russian Empire sets up colonies or trading posts/bases in Brazil, Argentine and Ururuay . The Russian tsar in reverse gives Spanish traders more rights concerning Northern California .
Ships with Russian settlers, convicts, hunters, traders, cossacks and specialists from all over Europe follow.
