Stumbled on this title but could not find out more - seems to be an alternate history game/book/scenario??? set in the late 30s (POD seems to be Edward not stepping down as king)...

It's a tabletop wargame where Britain descends into Civil War during the Depression years.
There was a kickstarter for an American version but it failed.

It was, and presumably is, quite big in the british wargaming community. The civil war starts with Edward not stepping down as you said, allowing for a rehash of the English Civil War with lots of different groups and alliances like communists, Scottish seperatists, Scottish unionists, socialists not alligned with the other socialists, an Anglican league, British Union of Fascists and all sorts joining in the fun.
