Mongolian Africa?

Sort of a two part question here-
1. Could the Mongols have won the battle of Ain Jalut against the Mamluks,
and 2. Could they frm there have conquered the rest of North Africa? And Then what from there?

2 is a flat out No, baring the inevitable race back to capital when ever a great khan would die. The Mongols would have to deal the climate, the possible reliance on native soldiers and what would be the point in trying to conquer North Africa bar Egypt.

Even though the mongols are capable of pushing towards North Africa, there is no value of conquering the rest of North Africa. Egypt was already wealthy enough.

The Mongols do not necessarily attack for value and rarely solely for it, but rather cultural and martial dominance reins supreme.

I beg to differ. The are cities that were spared simply by paying tributes. Regardless of how you view it still has a financial aspect to it whether to acquire land to breed horse or raise sheep or by gettin coin.
