Sort of a two part question here-
1. Could the Mongols have won the battle of Ain Jalut against the Mamluks,
and 2. Could they frm there have conquered the rest of North Africa? And Then what from there?
The Mongols do not necessarily attack for value and rarely solely for it, but rather cultural and martial dominance reins supreme.Even though the mongols are capable of pushing towards North Africa, there is no value of conquering the rest of North Africa. Egypt was already wealthy enough.
