Challenge: Make Barbara Jordan President

Barbara Jordan was the first female African-American representative to Congress in the south (Texas) since Reconstruction, and was a Representatives in the 1970s, and gave several important speeches at the Democratic National Convention up until 1992. Your challenge is to make her President or Vice President by the time of her death in 1996.

So you want a black lesbian with crippling MS and then leukemia to become POTUS? I have a hard time seeing that happening. She hid these facts well as a Rep. but no way she could do it on a national scale.

Though she was intelligent and an articulate speaker, the prospect of Barbara Jordan ever becoming President is quite dim, given, sad to say, her race, gender, political views, sexual orientation and her health during the last 20 years of her life
