Hm, without knowing the environments, I'm guesding Drakh, Kreos and Suros are the most prosperous regions, given their abundance of non-mountain lands.

Reasonable. I guess I'd have to do a lot of speculating to try to figure out where the sedimentary basins have been in the tectonic history to figure out where the petroleum is in this world.

As far as mineral lodes, however, having both large non-mountain lands as well as mountainous regions would be the best. I'm going with Trurias, which also controls that long chain of islands cutting the Sand Sea from Fuscom Ocean, and likely has a long Naval tradition. Suros has more neighbors, and thus more potential for land wars, though, so it could have a long military tradition.

Two comments;

1. That is a truly awesome map.
2. Please, please, turn this into a TL!

Also- "Barsum" is a great ERB referance.

Added Roanoke and Madison... Considering adding another state known as Monroe somewhere (probably in Canada somewhere). Also considering adding New Zealand and Australia at some point. But if anyone else has any other ideas.

It's big enough as is. There's really no plausible way to add New Zealand to the USA beyond conquering it and forcing it in (then you get a Philippines like scenario but on a smaller scale).

Water flowed from the old ice caps, and CO2 came out as well. Men and Women landed on the surface and built great cities, towering and spindly in the low gravity, connected by rail and zeppelin, wire and radio. It was used to launch missions further afield, to the deep black heart of space to different stars. The incipient interstellar civilization began to bloom.

And it died.
Excellent! It's great to see you back in the map thread, and in top form!

I understand. For either it would require an Act of Union over outright occupation or annexation.

Preferrably only those that could realistically become American without any wars. Samoa..?

See my signature for… well, not why you're wrong, just that you're wrong.

And I assume that the Philippines is more than one state, right? If the Philippines can become states, New Zealand will be a piece of cake.

Yep.
See above

But primarily, It would more than likely be something along Newfoundland and/or Labrador.

The Philippines is a single state... However, it is a very special case and is allowed 4 senators. Yet its representatives is total accumulation. The reason is because of the unique history of the region. It could be further divided into as few as two and as many 5 separate states. Currently, The Philippines are a single state, yet have a division below that that sits above the county level, again for its unique situation.

They are Continents, not Countries. It`s like saying "Europe has a Long Naval Tradition" or "Asia has a Long Military Tradition, for it has many neighbours"

ive been working on this for a few days now. as my first map here in Map Thread X, i present to you the United States of North America from my ASB ATL, comprised of 65 states why is US Green not used? i wanted to designate each of the states this time around even though almost none of them are disjointed. in some cases, it would otherwise be difficult to tell where some of the states ended and others began (primarily the Philippine states). the biggest changes overall, though, are of course the borders: while its fundamentally similar to the older USNA maps i've posted, there's some differences

ITTL, in addition to its OTL expansions, the US also gets:
  • Rupert's Land as a result of the War of 1812
  • Baja California along with Alta California following the First Spanish-American War (TTL's version of the Mexican-American War)
  • Puerto Rico and the Philippines as a result of the Second Spanish-American War around the turn of the 20th century
  • British Columbia (as the state of Cascadia) instead opts for US statehood rather than independence or becoming a formal part of the British Empire (in no small part because the USNA bordered much more of it at the time)
  • Sonora and Chihuahua became territories and later states as part of the Gadsden Purchase
  • Mariana was purchased from Japan at some point
go ahead and count 'em all sixty-five are on there

The revised ending to the American Civil War in the California Republic timeline I'm never going to do. I might make a map series instead though.

Texas never joined the CSA who got more help from Europe in OTL. California and Oregon seceded when threatened by British troops.
