How possible is it for the Chinese to beat the Europeans to the New World?

I suppose a PoD would be Zheng He going west instead of south then east to Africa. Though there might be better my understanding of Asian history is vague at best. So could the Ming or really any Chinese dynasty beat the Europeans to the New World?
