AH.com forum instant chat?
Hey, I was just wondering, due to my experience with some other sites that use vBulletin, has there ever been a consideration for adding an instant chat-box sort of thing? I don't know how many here would actually use it, or if it would even be a good idea, but I was just curious if its been considered before.

To me this sounds like a good idea. I would like to see a chat function.

It's been discussed. It would be impossible to moderate and a shitstorm of drama.

Some of the forums I've been to had rules for them that revolved around the chat being used only for certain types of discussion, though I don't know how well that would work here.

I've also seen one or two have a mod specifically for the chat box, and they seemed to handle it okay. Of course, this forum has way more members than most of the other vBulletin forums I've been to.

Klisz set up an IRC channel. It's unofficial, but it does work.
