That's pretty impressive. The flag is interesting: while I appreciate the heraldic elements, it feels a bit constrained vertically while not occupying to a similar extent the horizontal space it's given. Bonus points for the clean design, however.

Here's a crazy/fun idea:

How about someone combining the Bavarian and Croatian checker-boards into a flag? I figure there are three variants:

1) red-and-blue checkerboard;
2) purple-and-white checkerboard; or
3) red-white-and-blue checkerboard.

I'd love to see all three, if someone would like to create them!

They're not the same, though; Croatia's version is a square chequer, whereas Bavaria's is "lozengy" with parallelograms. You might end up with something like this:

The colours black white stands for the Order of the teutonic order, and should symbolize the german colonization of the east.

A couple of big problems are evident, but they appear to be mostly technical. The shield, for example, is stretched and pixellated. Also, the arms of the cross on the shield and the cross on the flag don't match up.

Also also, the black bars on the top and bottom aren't really very good looking.

Bars and Nordic crosses don't mix. I like the concept and the colors, but I think it's a bit busy. Perhaps it would look better with the eagle alone and the black as an outline to the white cross?

I tried making it with the cross extending past the bars, and I think it looks good except for the stretched and uncentered shield.

I don't have the skills to fix those parts.

One of the entries in the Association of American States flag contest (which may end up being the actual flag...I don't know). Also known as the "Scotland flag" or, more oddly, the "butt flag." Known to it's creator as the "shard flag."

The white and blue background represents the shattered Union, with the stars representing the shining successor, the Association of American States.
