Probably not realistic, but I was bored at work. Also, if the translations are bad, I blame Google Translate, as I don't know any of those languages(well)...
Would it kill you to label whatever the green is?

(I kid, of course. )

I only gave Swaziland those areas since they were Swazi Bantustans, otherwise I would'nt want to give them squat, considering they're a semi-Absolute Monarchy with a dick head of a King.

This is an excellent piece, and I'd love to see the timeline! What's the POD?

Great Map! Admittedly, I don't think the U.S. would annex the Northwest territory if it wasn't going to annex the rest of Western Canada, but is there a particular reason for that?

Have'nt nailed it down exactly, but in general the July Monarchy falls a little earlier and thanks to pragmatic and generally good politicians France stabilizes politically, remaining a Republic from then on and generally enduing-up more liberal and egalitarian.

Interesting! How does this affect France's language policy?

Well, Parisian French is still the Standard, but their was'nt the attempt to destroy all other dialects and related languages in the Metropole.

Standard French is the sole Official language of the French Federal Republic, while each Region can establish official regional languages alongside French, though French is given precedence in that it's the language of basic education and de facto the language of business.

If you're so concerned then allow more than one attachment per post.

Owait, that's right, you're not in charge here. TLDR; stfu

He wants the standards and rules to be upheld. You could of uploaded them all to an image hosting website and posted them all in one post. And you reaction was not required.

He said please, and you did post a lot of random blobs of green and blue, so I took his statement as a fairy polite request, and then you responded very harshly. No one was being a tinpot dictator.

Also, if you were to use imgur or something similar you could have had multiple pictures per post.

Alternately, you could just have refrained from posting them. I do not see how they are a) your own work b) relevant to this thread c) interesting. At least take the time to remove the random map generator's interface. And telling you that is not rude, it's constructive criticism.

His post was rude, and if you can't see that then I guess I could say something along similar lines, I dunno 'Please don't spam the map thread with your irrelevant posts' and you'd have no problem with it? Maybe if I said please stfu that would be okay?

Some people might find the maps useful to storylines, who are either of you to decide what should or shouldn't be posted? And telling me they all look the same and 'random blobs of green and blue' (apart from the fact thats the point of maps, and I provided several so there were a few to choose from).

The second part of your post was more useful, I usually use tinypic but it wouldn't make any difference, I assume the dig was more to do with the images than the number of posts. One thing I did consider was maybe in retrospect I should have posted them in the requests thread, but still no major inconvenience to you.

And the wolves circle, and the pathetic attempts at cyberbullying begin..
a. They are my own work, as without my program they would not exist.
b. This is a MAP thread, right?
c. Thats dependent on your point of view I guess. If I had the time or was sad enough to go through this thread (and previous ones) flaming the maps I found to be dull as ditchwater this would be a hell of a long thread!

'Constructive criticism' would be telling me some way in which to improve my work, not just calling it boring.

I think you should check your spelling and grammar before posting so we can keep the standards upheld.

Of course it isn't. The Confederacy was created out of the noble goal to divide the US and prevent it from becoming a superpower.

But seriously, Confederate victory timelines often end up in the same thing as in TL 191 - German-American alliance against the Entente-plus-CSA. The result of that is that the Central Powers win the war, and thus the Holocaust is averted and WWII is, if it exists at all, likely less destructive because of the relative smaller power the defeated Entente can pose compared to the OTL Axis. And averting the Holocaust can hardly be called racist.

Of course, there is the issue of slavery, but that's doomed to end around 1900 at the latest anyway. That extended period of slavery won't be fun for the slaves, but neither was colonization for the African and Asian colonies, and you didn't object to wanking Britain or Germany or Italy. And I really doubt you would've posted that picture if I mentioned wanking 19th Century Brazil, which kept up slavery until 1889 if I'm not mistaken. It might linger a little while longer in the CSA due to the whole states system, but with the entire world against them, slavery will almost certainly die before an alternate WWI erupts (assuming it still erupts in the first two decades of the 20th Century).

Posting them in their own thread would have been a good idea. Here no one who will want them will ever find them because by tomorrow we'll probably have like 5 more pages on this thread. Also as their own thread there would have been no complaints and would actually receive a constructive discussion about them.

The only thing I see wrong with my post is that I started a sentence with "And". Where are the other errors?

Oh, please. Don't be ridiculous, please.

a) Once more, I do not see how you put any effort in those maps. I don't count pushing a button as "effort". If you wrote the program yourself, of course, you are free to advertise it in this thread, but please don't flood it with half a dozen or so blank maps taking up unnecessarily much space. I believe we've got a blank map thread somewhere, anyway.
b) See above.
c) I think almost everyone here will agree that randomly generated green shapes on dark blue are uninteresting.

I am doing just that -- try to extrapolate. Those maps are bad, IMHO, and don't warrant so many examples, so what is bad about them? That they're blank and randomly generated without any consideration. So, just do thought-through, handdrawn (mousedrawn? ) maps showing an interesting, preferably unique, development or situation.
