(This is a trailer for a TL I might do someday. As most of my trailers have music in them, I think this song would be good, especially since it was a favorite of the subject. For those curious it was originally written by Leonard Blakeslee, with some alterations by Leonard Cohen and others. (I think Pete Seeger might be a good choice to perform the music as he likely knew the subject...))

*Archival footage of FDR Administration plays. One person in each bit of footage is Henry A. Wallace*
I was at FDR's side on the night before he died
He said, "One world must come out of World War Two.
Yankee, Russian, Black or Tan, oh, a man is just a man.
*Shot of Wallace, Garner and Truman together, on the way to FDR's funeral*
"We're all brothers, and we're only passing through."

*Thud. Blackout.*
*Headline: "WALLACE RESIGNS"*
*Studio Card. Music Resumes*
*Wallace shown walking out of the Commerce Building, with a briefcase in hand*
I saw Adam leave the garden, with an apple in his hand,
I said, "Now you're out, what are you gonna do?"
*Wallace working on his farm at Farvue*
"Plant my crops and pray for rain,
*Shot of "Wallace's Farmer" magazine, article entitled "A Word Personal". Other magazines are below*
Maybe raise a little Cain.
I'm an orphan now and only passing through."

*Now the changes...Shot of a farm labeled: "Henry A. Wallace Experimental Farm, EPCOT."*
Passing through, Passing through,
*Shot of buildings in cities with rooftop gardens*
Sometimes happy, sometimes blue,
*Shot of Chicago Tribune: "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN". Below, New York Times: "DEWEY ELECTED"*
Glad that I ran into you,
*Shot of Wallace, with a cane, shaking hands with JFK, who is presenting him with a medal*
Tell the people that you saw me passing through.
*Shot of Senator Glen Taylor being arrested by Birmingham police*
I saw Jesus on the cross, on that hill called Calvary,
*Shot of a white mob burning Wallace pictures*
"Do you hate mankind for what they done to you?"
*Shot of Wallace speaking to a group of African-American farmers, possibly at Tuskegee Institute*
He said, "Talk of love, not hate,
*Shot of Wallace examining a Southern field*
Things to do, it's getting late
I've so little
time and only passing through."

*Shot of a farmhouse, mural of an African-American farm family on the side*
Passing through, Passing through,
*Shot of Army troops guarding a college entrance*
Sometimes happy, sometimes blue,
*Shot of Robert New speaking to a mixed audience, SC and US flags behind him*
Glad that I ran into you,
*Rural basketball team, 1970's. Both blacks and whites are on the team.*
Tell the people that you saw me passing through.

*Wallace is in Mexico, talking to Norman Borlaug*
I shivered with George Washington, one night at Valley Forge,
*Trekking through the jungle of Costa Rica*"Why do the soldiers freeze here like they do?"
*Wallace reading a headline, sitting in Africa: "US to revoke Wallace's passport?"*
He said, "Men will suffer, fight, even die for what is right.
*Wallace, looking out over the hills of Israel*
Even though they know they're only passing through."

*Fields overseas, abounding with fruit and crops*
Passing through, Passing through,
Sometimes happy, sometimes blue,
Glad that I ran into you,
Tell the people that you saw me passing through.

*
Shot of Wallace, making a speech*
Wallace: No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.

Passing through, Passing through,
Sometimes happy, sometimes blue,
Glad that I ran into you,
Tell the people that you saw me passing through.
