RP: Czar Fyodor III has been crowned
Just got it off Chirper that Czar Fyodor III has been crowned in Moscow at the age of 32. As you all know, he's the Great Grandson of Alexei II, who made the Russian Empire into one of the two most powerful nations on Earth after the failed Bolshevik Coup. He even managed to defeat the Nazis and the Japanese in WW2 while he was at it.
What do you think, now that the Romanovs are nearing the 400th anniversary of their dynasty's control over the largest country on the planet? And do you think that Alexei's legacy has had any impact, positive or negative? OOC: I Might revive my Iron Prince Idea. ![]()

Interesting.
OOC: RP, what's that mean? |

OOC: Roleplay.
If one doesn't use that title and uses the more traditional DBWI instead, legend has it Douglas will come and haunt the thread 'til its dying days whispering in his ghostly voice "This is not a DBWI ...This is not a DBWI". Alternatively, if you catch Douglas, you get three wishes...at least that's what I've heard.

I dunno, the Tsars seem to have become mostly ceremonial in the years since the war, seems that the Prime Minister does most of the actual running of the country. I mean, it's cool and all, but I don't think it's going to do much to affect global politics.
And what are these "Nazis"? I don't think I'm familiar with the term. Is it a Russian term for the Ukrainian, Finnish, and Polish separatists who took advantage of the war with Japan to try and break away?

Vulture, hast thou been sustaining thyself under some form of boulder? The Nazis were the Party that seied control of the Weimar Republic in a landslide 1930 election.

OOC: Sorry, I just assumed it'd be rather unlikely for the Nazis to rise in a world without the Soviet Union.

Funny how about your comment on the ceremonial thing, it appears that while the Tsars really dont do much with the political thing directly they are still in control of the military (seem rather obsessed with it actually). Fyodor on the other hand while he did do his national service, seems to have gone off more on the partying route. If he carries that on Russia's international relations could reach a new level in response to the many parties he would hold for forign dignitaries. OOC: Whats Iron Prince?

They're doing well really. Once Alexis (OOC: note, this is likely to be the Anglicization of the Russian name in any context) abolished serfdom in the 20s, the country really modernised. Can't wait for the Tetracentenary, I'm planning to be in Petrograd for it.

I hope to be in the Kremlin for the Tetracentenary, where it is rumoured that Czar Fyodor will declare it to be Open House.
