DBWI: U.S. Presidential Election, 2008
Poll forthcoming.
Election Day is tomorrow. Are you going to vote for incumbent President John Kerry, or Republican challenger Governor Mitt Romney? Or a third party?

I'm voting for Gov. Romney. Kerry is far too liberal for my tastes.

Does anybody know why Kerry dropped Vice-President Gephardt from the ticket?

It's hard to say. I think it was because, while he was vice president, Gephardt didn't really get along well with President Kerry. No one really knows why, but they just didn't get along running the administration.
EDIT BTW, I'll post the election map when the race is called tomorrow.

How quickly we forgot why Sec. Albright is considering retiring on Inauguration Day? She said in an ABC interview that the Cabinet meetings became so tense that she had to coordinate with other members from her office or see the President directly.

I don´t see, why anybody could vote for Kerry again. He messed up the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, he messed up the world economy. This would never happend to Bush.

I'm no fan of Gov. Romney, but anything is better than the President. If this thing weren't so close, I'd probably just vote third party... but I guess it's got to be Romney.

Kerry. The issues that caused the economic crisis were in play long before he took office, and while he's having issues with the revolt from within his own party, I can't see how Romney will do any better. Heck, Romney's had to sell out to the Religious Right far too much in order to get them to shut up about the Mormon thing.

I'll be casting my ballot for President Kerry. Romney oozes aristocrat. Kerry does too, but much less so, and he's the type of aristocrat that gets along well with us rabble.

Well, the results are in, and it looks like, by a larger than expected margin, President John Kerry (D-MA) has been re-elected, and Bob Graham's going to be the next, the 48th Vice President. Here's the map:
Pres. John Kerry (D-MA) / Fmr. Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL) - 332 EVs Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA) / Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) - 206 EVs It's definitely an improvement since 2004, I can say that for sure. What do you all think about 2012? Who do you think's going to succeed President Kerry? OOC: I based the results on the vote in the thread poll. 2-1 in favor of Kerry/Graham, so I tried to loosely give each candidate the equivalent percentages of the Electoral College.

Anyway, I personally found both candidates unappealing, so I voted for Independant candidate Barack Obama. He actually did fairly well, since he managed to get over a million votes, as well as attract attention form young people. Hopefully Kerry learns from his mistakes.Hopefully.

Mostly because we have the same ideals and religion.

Didn't it really just come down to 30,000 votes in SW Ohio? In '08, the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, that is, Fox News, didn't really stop talking up a McCain victory in the midst of an Obama landslide until Karl Rove had to be told Ohio went for Obama. Kerry lost, but he wasn't curbstomped. He also had the disadvantage that the VRWC had already had their weapons trained, lock, and loaded for bear for him from the beginning. Like McGovern in '72, the GOP got the opponent they wanted. In '08 they wanted Hillary and becauce the primaries ran so late they didn't really seem to have a decent reserve game plan (smear campaign).
