Timeline Contest 3 Sign Up and Discussion Thread

This thread is for people to sign up for the contest, as well as discussion about it.

Every contestant will be asked to develop a timeline from the PoD date to, if possible, the present. Contestants should start their own threads for their timelines in this forum. The thread title should be prefixed with "TLC3:". Frequent updates are highly encouraged.

Here is the PoD:

August 7, 1819 - the Battle of Boyacá is a victory for Royalist forces.

In this thread please state your desire to be in the contest.

Contestants can start as soon as they are able.

The end date will be a subject for discussion later.

1819...After San Martin's liberation of Chile in 1818, but before the Lima Campaign and the fall of the Directorate at Bs. AS...

I think I'll do it...If I have the time...

All right, my entry into the contest will now be conditionated by the amount of time I've got on my hands and my ability to come up with a good title...

I forgot: should we keep the TLs going as far as the 1900s, right? maybe with the ending between 1900 and 1919?

Otherwise, It'd get harder to finish and would end up more as a work of imagination than one of counterfactualism...

Note: the map is kinda wrong: Chile is independent, Uruguay is under Brazilian occupation, half of Mexico should be independent, if not all...and I don't remember when did Florida become Spanish...

It's basically up to the contestants how far to go. As a general rule, chronologically shorter timelines should be more detailed.

I'd sign up, but I'd like to know the end date first, so as to see if I have enough time.

I think the end point is as far as you can go/as far as you can get.

Despite the fact that its obvious...Red is loyalist, Blue is revolutionary...and if you honestly see Green in that map, It think one of us is in need of an eye doctor...

The end date isn't predetermined, it is kept flexible in the hope of allowing more timelines to be completed. It will likely be some months away. If you are going to become busy at some point, you can finish earlier of course.

Oh, yes...that's the Trienio Liberal...1820-1823

The Liberals launched a pronunciamiento in early 1820, established a Constitutional Monarchy and government for three years until France intervened in 1823 under a mandate of the Holy Alliance...
