Super Challenge Earhart beats Lindberg

In 1940, or perhaps if WW2 had taken a slower course in 1944 Amelia Earhart defeats Charles Lindberg for US Presidency.

Obviously the first POD is for Ms Earhart to survive. Secondly I think FDR would have to have died earlier.

Can this be done without ASBs

I guess the question would be do we know if Earhart had any political aspirations? Senator would probably be the highest possible under the conventions of the times.

In 1944 the war is not going well. Having thrown back an invasion in late 1943 Hitler has made peace overtures to the US to drive a wedge between the Allies.

Republican Lindbergh, who won in 1940 on an isolationist platform (which he has adhered to despite Pearl Harbor's turning American sentiment against it, and him) is known to look on this with favor. He is also widely seen as having crippled the war effort in the US by several underhanded means. One of these is by strongly opposing the employment of women to replace men in American factories. Despite this, the practice has become widespread.

The pro-war Democrats in 1944 seize on the idea of running a woman as a symbolic representation of 'Rosie the Riveter' and Amelia Earhart is convinced to personify the working woman. Using the strong tide of pro-war sentiment combined with the widespread use of a new political idea in a drive to register women voters, she gains victory in the 1944 election.

Ze Plane, Ze Plane

A woman President is out of the question at this time. Gender roles in the US had some flexibility (a la Rosie the Riveter) but there was limits to that elasticity (eg. the US military was considerably more uncomfortable with using women in even support roles than the British or Russians).
