WI Al Qaeda targets India?

Inspired from the Russian thread. Instead of the US, the leaders of Al Qaeda feel that Indians want to destroy Muslims as the Government is pro Hindus. What if they attacked the Indians? What would the West do in such a case?

Exactly what they did in response to every other time Muslim terrorists hit India, like Mumbai 2008 is pretty good example

What did Al Qaeda actually say and do in response to the Mumbai bombing, because I can't find anything much about it on the web.

Indian get hit by terrorist attacks by various groups every day. Commies , Muslims , Christian , etc. Sadly , it would probably be another day for India. They'd end up responding to the attack by Al Qaeda like they do with their own homegrown terrorist groups more than likely.

Actually there is a big difference between the governments of 2001 and 2008. The NDA had the guts to take out the terrorists while the UPA is a complete piece of crap. There might be a big response if the target is something like the Parliment in New Delhi or the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai.

Although India may have more terrorist problems than U.S., I doubt terrorist attacks that kill 5000 people are a daily occurrence for them.

To the OP: maybe Pakistan cozies up to Al Qaeda? My knowledge on Afghanistan-Pakistan-India politics is poor at best, but my understanding is that Pakistan was allies to Taliban but was willing to throw Al Qaeda under the bus to score points with America. In this scenario, Pakistan may see Al Qaeda as a useful proxy to use against India.

As for how the rest of the world reacts, probably along the lines "People killed in India by terrorists? Realy sad. Oh well, they aren't important westerners. Moving on.". Same conclusion was reached on WI: Al Qaeda targets Russia instead of America? thread.
