Where to showcase non-AH for feedback?
Been working on the first draft of my first novel, a labor of love that I've had in development and outlines for as long as I can remember - literally my life's work.
I've always enjoyed the feedback of my fellow AH.comers on anything I've worked on here, but it's aways been AH related or ASB and in this case... It's not. Would it be alright to post chapters of the first draft to get feedback although it's not an alternate history? And if so, where do I post? Thanks.

I would say post it up in the Writer's Forum. We're pretty open to everything in there

I was wondering this myself. I occasionally write poetry, and I'd like to get some opinion. Would that be in the Writer's forum as well?

I've seen people post poetry in the Writer's Forum, though I think there was a dedicated thread for poetry in NPC as well but it's probably died by now.

Thanks a lot!
Also, would this work on an honor system or would I need to copyright beforehand?

Copyright the damn thing if you're going to post it all. If it's your life's work, make damn sure you own it and can sue if anyone tries to plagarize. Although do also recognize that if you post it on the internet for free, potential sales will be impacted.

Anything posted in a members' only section of the site (ASB, Future History, Writers' Forum would count) is safe and automatically belongs to you under US copyright law (US is where the board's server is physically hosted, so we'll go with the law there). Anything posted in the bits of the site that anyone can view (pre-1900, post 1900, etc) is not safe.
