WI: Alexius gets exactly what he wants

IOTL, Alexius's call to the west for expert knights to help fight the Seljuks was answered with a huge unruly crusader army, what happens if, instead, he gets exactly what he hoped for? Long-term the crusades eventually doomed the Byzantine empire but without the massive distraction to the muslim world, will the Byzantines be able to hold on any longer than IOTL? How will the lack of a crusade effect Alexius's reconquest of Anatolia?

The "Muslim world" isn't united in opposition to the Byzantines. So Alexius retaking Anatolia won't bother Egypt or Persia a bit.

I imagine this is a good thing, but it might not be as good a thing as he hoped for - things rarely are.

We see modest, sustained gains in Anatolia, but take note that nothing happens in a vacuum. Alexius had to fend off major invasions from some of the very people whom he wanted to fight for him

Keep in mind that Anatolia was wrecked. It would take a generation or more, and lots of investment to get a return on his investment, which is partly why any diversions from constant imperial attention frequently turned to disaster for the Byzantines in Anatolia.
