Suppose Nixon apologised for the watergate scandal rather than covered it up.

What does it mean for American Politics?

All they had to do is ensure that the guard doesn't notice the tape, or that the original equipment works properly. No one will ever know the truth. We've had many "WI No Watergate" threads before.

The question is when does he apologize? 1972, 1973 or 1974? 1972 or 1973, Nixon probably survives the scandal. 1974, not so much.
