fill out the forms, then move the country here to the Highlands of the Last Hope. If everybody does this we can begin competing against eachother to see who can run a country the best. OK not really, but we can compete against eachother. I just created a new country today, the Republic of Brastonia.

I am. Is it okay if I use one of my current NS nations? Like the USAM (United States of American Militarists*)? Or do I have to create an entirely new one?

*Which currently has over 2 billion people living in it.

You can. There's an option on the game's "settings" that allows you to customize your flag.

The Dominion of Devarga is a tiny, socially progressive nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Healthcare are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 31%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force. Devarga's national animal is the natinal hymn, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the dominan.

Yeah I created my own tri-color. The nation I used to have was deleted from the game, it was once huge, 300 million people, but I got tired of the same messages day in and day out.

It wasn't deleted, it just ceased exist. You can revive it if you ask the game's mods.

I'm having a bit of trouble customizing my own flag. I'm using Photoshop, saving each flag at the requisite size and resolution, and STILL not getting down to the 6 KB limit. I don't understand how yous managed to upload such detailed (and presumably large) images.

I've created a flag based loosely on that of Singapore but with a Mandaean drafsha in the middle. I'd be much obliged for any help posting the damn thing.

The Free Federation of Octopolis is a huge, economically powerful nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 934 million enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Commerce, and Social Welfare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 44%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Information Technology.

People are now classified as male, female, or genderqueer, refugees from other nations are flocking to Octopolis's border, same-sex marriages are increasingly common, and scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Here's what I did: Saved another member's flag (one that was well under the 6KB max), opened it in MS Paint, erased the image, and drew my own. It seems like you have to keep it very simplistic in design or you exceed the alotted space. I don't know how some people got heraldric images etc. on theirs...

Wow - 19 nations! That's a lot.

I wanted to give a healthy venue for my latent fascist impulses, so I created a new nation which swings far, far to the Right. It's an analogue of Phalangist Lebanon called The Republic of Jebel Lubnan. The motto, ma fii A7la mni nni'6aam means "There is nothing sweeter than Order," which I found in a kataeb comic strip written for children, 7ikayit ba6al ismo Sharbel - A Story of a Hero Named Charbel.

The flag is modeled after one I saw as a child, but haven't seen since. I suspect that it is the flag of one of the Christian militias but it doesn't look like the official kataeb flag. Please take a look at the flag and let me know if you've seen it or have any information about it. I couldn't find it on FOTW.
