4 reagan alternates

Possibility 1) Suppose that term-limits were never etablished. I'm not proposing that FDR not serve 4 terms, just that term-limits not be enacted as a result. Would Reagan be re-elected to a third term, or even a fourth before having to retire in 1994 due to Alzheimer's? How would he have dealt with the S&L collapse, and with the invasion of Kuwait? Would Clinton be President now?

Possibility 2) What if Reagan had not deregulated the Savings and Loan banks? Would George Bush not have to violate his campaign promise of "No New Taxes", in order to pay off the 500,000,000,000 dollar cost of ensuring S&L accounts? Alternately, this could be part of scenario #1, as well.

Possibilty 3) When Reagan was a young actor in Hollywood, he considered himself a liberal and a Democrat. He came under the sway of some prominent conservative businessmen and changed his political leanings toward Republicanism. How would history change? Would he have won the Democratic ticket in 1976 and become President instead of James Carter? How would his presence as a Democrat change domestic and foreign policy? I believe that the Soviet Union would still have collapsed, because it had been teetering on bankruptcy since the middle 1970's. However, military spending in the U.S. might not have reached 1980's levels with a Democrat in office.

Possibility 4) Suppose that Reagan had never taken any political leanings at all. How would California have been different in the turbulent 60's without Reagan as governor? How would things differ for the Black Panthers, and for the student counter-culture movement at Berkeley? How about the 80's without Reagan? What other differences would be seen?
