I've been watching the History Channel again. 
I also note that some people have looked for some legal based AH challenges
In 1940 the Bantam Company went through hell to design the BRC or Bantam Reconnaissance Car. The Army was delighted, and proceeded to reward them by giving the contract to a competitor, Willys Overland, since they judged Bantam as incapable of making enough of them for the war. It appears they were royally screwed in the process

Now wartime production may have its ruthless requirements, but in 1945 it was Willys Overland, not Bantam, who started making the Jeep for consumer use.
I smell the courtroom, or at least the AH computer screen 50 years later. For the challenge we need Bantam to survive the war. (which I think they did )
