WWII- units sent where intially destined

How would WWII have been affected had certain units been dispatched to where they were initially scheduled and had been trained for instead of OTL being diverted elsewhere where they were more needed ? Key example- WI the 18th East Anglian Div, trained for desert mech warfare, hadn't been sent as last-minute reinforcements to Singapore but instead been sent to North Africa as they'd been intended ? Less nos. of POWs taken at Singapore, for starters ?

And the following:
WI the US 7th HOURGLASS and 93rd (Colored) BLOODY HAND Divs, trained for desert warfare, had been sent to North Africa instead of to PTO ? (respectively 7th sent to the Aleutians where they were totally unprepared for amphib and winter warfare, and 93rd to SWPA where they were largely used as stevedores and guard units, and only saw limited mopping-up ops on Bougainville and other small islands like Morotai)
32nd RED ARROW Div deployed to Northern Ireland instead of Australia ?
555th PIB (TRIPLE NICKELS- only black airborne outfit formed in WWII) were deployed to ETO to join the 82nd Airborne before OTL being trained as smokejumpers to put out Japanese balloon-bomb fires on the Pacific Northwest ?
86th OLD ABE and 97th TRIDENT Divs trained for jungle warfare but OTL sent as emergency reinforcements to ETO during Battle of the Bulge crisis- WI they had been deployed to the Pacific as scheduled ?
98th FAB hadn't converted from being mountain arty into 6th Ranger Bn ? How would the Cabanatuan POW camp raid have been conducted ?

Can anybody think of any other examples ?
