USA/Canadian-type winters would force some changes in Hindu practice, e.g.:-
(1) Need every autumn to work out how many livestock they can feed till spring on the hay that they had, and kill and salt the rest away, including cattle. That is why in Germanic languages before Christianity came, November was called Blo_tmonath = "Sacrifice-month". Indian Hinduism never had to cope with USA/Canadian or European type winters. Ref the changes OTL that Buddhism had to make in attitude to meat in Tibet due to climate. Much of Tibet is around 2 miles above sea level and only fit for sheep and yak breeding.
(2) Move Holi and Diwali etc to summer.
