Edit the opening dates. I was confused reading how the US annexed Cuba in 1988, the the next one is 1989 then all of a sudden its 1900

More faults than an earthquake zone

-Queen Victoria II, 1909-1931
-Queen Alexandra I, 1931-1936 (assa)
-King Arthur II, 1936-1938 (abd.)

Again, where exactly is King Arthur I coming from so that there is a King Arthur II?

1910 May 8th: Queen Victoria II authorizes a massive naval build-up to counter that of the United States. The I-class of battle cruisers (the HSM Invinicble, Indomitable, Inflexable, and Iron Duke) are laid down. They are the Invincible-class battlecruisers of OTL, but withan extra 2-inches of armor.

Indefatigable would be the most likely other 'I' class battlecruiser. Laying down anything like the OTL Invincible class at such a late date, 1910, is a terrible decision. The Lion class was laid down in 1909 and was better overall.

This is an ATL, and the Lion class will not be laid down until 1911, since the descision to build battle cruiser came in 1907/08, a year or two earlier in TTL. Changed the names of the I-class battle cruisers and the King Arthur.

The regnal numbers of Kings of England are bizarre. Unlike France which counts from the moment of unity/separate identity, England started counting (again) at the Norman Conquest (William I in 1066), though perhaps one could mark the real moment to be Edward I not calling himself Edward IV (I think). Logically if pre-Conquest England was viewed from its moment of unification/separate identity it would probably start with Edward The Elder (turn of the 10th century).

Either way, pre-unification kings, even Alfred The Great, were kings of one of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. There had been times in the past when one of them rose to be Bretwalda (sp?) indiciating a kind of high kingliness, overlordship over the other kings within England, but this shifted a lot and was never hereditary

Going back in time to BEFORE the Anglo-Saxons is into the murky depths of the 5th century AD where the Romans have gone (officially/formally) and the Romano-British have begun to break up back into tribes and power groupings. Within THIS structure there would have been claimants to the position analogous to High King, commanding dominance over the lesser kings that re-arose. The historical King Arthur would have been one of these Romano-British High Kings at best

But he would not have been counted in the regnal sequencing. One assumes that if Henry VIII's son Arthur had lived he would have gone down in history as Arthur I of England, even though his name was chosen to symbolise a Welsh-British union looking back on ancient times

a bit soon, here?

"March 12th: The British lay down the HMS Dreadnoght in an attempt to catch up to the Americans as fast they can.
Sweeden begins to enlarge her navy considerble by laying down 2 new dreadnoghts and 6 armormored cruisers."

Don't you think this is a bit, well soon? Even in my own AH line, with a maritime power that is Britain's equal, it is 1906 before a ship can be laid down to answer Dreadnought, and a somewhat flawed one at that...

HMS Dreadnought was a revolutionary ship departing from previous concepts of naval warfare--it's going to take awhile to even draft up plans for such a ship.

HMS Dreadnought was a revolutionary ship departing from previous concepts of naval warfare--it's going to take awhile to even draft up plans for such a ship.

I guess the question is whether this Dreadnought has ALL the revolutionary features of OTL's Dreadnought, or whether in copying from the American lead the British have focused on the all-big-gun aspect without going ahead with the advances in propulsion and armour. An all-big-gun ship is possible by redesigning the Agamemnon and Lord Nelson, and probably capable of being undertaken in a short space of time. They don't actually have to change THOSE two ships' designs, but lay down a vessel to the modified design elsewhere

Sweden I am not so sure about. It probably hasn't got the dockyward capacity for all this new construction at once, and to go ahead with two all-big-gun battleships with no real history of anything bigger than a coast defence battleship seems folly. I suppose they could adopt a 3-turret panzerschiffe modification, basically a 'Dreadnought Lite' but anything else is going to require a lot more time to get designs in and contracts bidded for

The dreadnoght OTL has been under design since the end of Russo-Japanese War, same as TTL. The US, which ordered their dreadnogt first, laid down and commisioned their first dreadnoght in TTL before the Brtish, so the British rushed the dreadnoght into service. About Sweden, this is a slightly different Sweden than OTL. It has an empire (Siam, half of Dutch Guiena, Italian Erita, Abyssiana, and maybe Mozembique and Madaquasar), and thus might have the capability to build a dreadnoght. Their first dreadnoght, will be the King Gustavis II Adolfus, will probally be based off an earlier class of pre-dreadnoght, but without the hevier secondary guns. Since the Michigan and South Carolina proved themselves superior to pre-dreadnoghts in the American-Swedish War, countries will be more willing to build dreadnoghts earlier than OTL.

I think short term the best they could likely do is a much-improved version of the German Brandenburg class.
