United States of the Americas [part eight]

** 1763 ITTL is important. King Frederick is 56, He has spent the last 35 years on the outs, with his Parents, over his lack of ability to do any thing. But now He's in Power, and He doesn't want to let go any of it. He's ready to make his Mark.
What he Sees.
The War in Europe is over & Britain can turn to Building her overseas empire. The French threat is over in NA. Britain controls the entire east coast from New Found land to Florida, And with Cuba & Jamaica GB also is the big boy in the Caribbean. In India, GB is forging the coming Jewel in the Crown . And there are small Colonies in NZ & Australia. GB has every reason to feel confident, IF ONLY, the whole thing wasn't so expensive. GB will start with a excise tax on [hard] cider .
What he doesn't see.
Population-Due to the increased immigration from 1720~1750 there are not only a larger population in NA, than OTL , but a larger proportion are 2nd and 3rd Generation with fading ties to GB, Some of the Scottish settlements in fact have negative ties to England. [I know-England & GB aren't the same-but ITTL England dominates the Isles even more than OTL]. Many are from elsewhere in Europe, [TTL has larger German, Jewish & Irish populations for example]. They have therefore reached farther west . West Florida reaches to Louisiana, Ohio already has large settlements & Settlers are crossing the lakes into Ontario. The '63 Proclamation, is locking the barn after the horse is gone, but annoying the farmer who now can't get in.
Economy-There is extensive coastal trade, run by established Merchant Houses, and many, NE shippers under the British flag , Operate East Indian Men, sailing and trading around Cape Horn into Spanish Pacific, and French Indonesia. Most of these Vessels, Are being Designed & Built in the Americas. While the English aren't keeping track, in TTL America is building more ships than Britain, through most are Small Sloops & Schooners for the Coastal trade. And thro they have been building ships for the Navy since 1672, they just passed Britain in numbers of Warships Built. The main Problem is a lack of hard Currency. Lots of Various Merchant Houses, Businesses, & even larger Plantations are printing their own Money, But there is no Common Exchange rate between them, And Inflation is rampart.
Politics- The British Colonies have been running their own life's for Years, there are established Colonial Legislatures from Newfoundland to West Florida, with Ohio talking of setting up their own. The Colonies also have a Union in the Continental Congress. While it hasn't any real Power [think UN debating society], It just went through a war, were it coordinated the various state Militias, in their assisting of the British Forces. The Colonies are getting used to Thinking of themselves as a separate, Entity . Also the War was Expensive for them too. They are hoping for a payment like after King William's War.
Military- While each state raises and operates it's own Militia, They have conducted joint operations, with each other. The Militias are larger & better organized than IOTL. Also the British have stationed several Regiments around the Various states since the 1740's, Both British, & German [Hanover]. These have come to be seen by poor young men as a easy way to get to America. As such second & up Sons from all over Germany [if Germany includes north Italy, Poland, Hungary, etc] have been enlisting, then taking their discharge in America. Many of these ex-s then join the Militia. Giving the militia a core of trained Soldiers. This includes a small but important amount of Officers.
