1. Riley Hits the Campaign Trail.
Alabama Senator Cody Riley is back on the campaign trail after a month-long break to be with his wife and newborn twin boys. One of the most sought-after campaigners, as well as a possible future Presidential nominee, Riley will be going to New Hampshire, Florida, Indiana, California, Michigan, Utah and Missouri.
2. Vinick=The Great Peacemaker?
Arnold Vinick is undoubtedly one of the most popular and effective Secretaries of State in history. He's currently got favorables of 77%. And there are rumors that due to his involvement in the Kazakhstan intervention, as well as his efforts in ending the Greek-Turkish crisis, Vinick will be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. These are just rumors, of course.
3. Daley Considering Retirement.
Sources have reported that Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is considering retiring. If so, it would set off a major rush to grab hold of a Mayoralty that hasn't been vacant for a generation. Notable possible candidates includes Congressman Barry Robinson and Congresswoman Mary Maskaleris.
4. Singer Meeting With Congressional Democrats.
Nate Singer, the White House Chief of Staff, will be meeting with Congressional Democrats on Wednesday. This is to coordinate strategy and targets for the election. Reportedly, relations between Speaker Carol Gelsey and Singer haven't been the warmest.
5. Sidley Close to a Decision.
Massachusetts Governor Isaac Sidley is drawing closer to naming a replacement for Roland Pierce. The leading candidates are Congressman Rajay "Ray" Sindh, Congresswoman Caroline Martin and (Of course) Boston Mayor Jimmy Fitzsimmons. Despite narrowing the list down, Sidley still will not appoint a new Senator until the New Year.
6. Claire Walken Contracted to Write Book.
Claire Walken, the daughter of Presidential candidate GlenAllen Walken, has been contracted to write a book about her father and her experiences on the campaign trail. It will be released sometime next year, with a possible extension if her father should win the Presidency.
