Did any of you guys ever play/read the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone when you were younger ? SPECTRAL STALKERS was no. 43 in the series IIRC, and revolved around 1self as the adventurer being in possession of a mystical device called the Aleph, a crystal globe containing everything in existence, which enabled 1 to travel to various realms and universes just by looking into the Aleph and concentrating. The aim of this book was to outwit an evil archmage called Globus who seeks the Aleph for his own maniacal ends, and to avoid his servants the Spectral Stalkers. Interesting for AH reasons in having a portable device to travel between parallel universes, eh ?
