WWI- Islam-European colonial troops POD

OTL the Ottomans during WWI did try to encourage Muslim Allied colonial troops among British Indian and French North African and Senegalese forces to defect to the CP side, given that they were fighting for European colonialism, and appealing to a pan-Muslim brotherhood feeling, but AFAIK these overtures were unsuccessful in facilitating largescale desertions of Allied Muslim soldiers to the Ottoman cause. However, could such a development have conceivably occurred, and what would've been the effects on the Allied war effort in the Mideast and Africa ? Could the Turks in any way have possibly recruited WWI equivalents of the Indian Nat'l Army or the Waffen SS's Muslim legions ? Could Ottoman agents also have somehow tried to clandestinely co-ordinate with pro-independence activists in India and French colonies in Africa so's that the Western Allies could've been faced with an indigenous Muslim population rising to the same extent as the Russians faced with the Central Asian revolt of 1916 ?
