13th and 15th amendments in border states

In OTL Lincoln, though hating slavery, allowed 'loyal' slave owners to keep their human property. This plainly ended in December 1865.

Was there resistance?

Also what about voting rights for freedmen after 1869?

I don't think there was much resistance to the 13A.

As I understand it, quite a few slaves in KY and other Border states had already sloped off to join the Union Army - which wasn't inclined to ask too many questions. MD, MO, and WV had already brought in emancipation schemes, but just having the war going on in the region was enough to undermine slavery pretty effectively

The 15A went into force there as elsewhere, KY at least managed to prevent the Republicans carrying it until 1896, which suggests that its impact was limited. Most of the other Border States were back in the Democratic camp by 1872, so it was probably much the same there.
