DBWI: Hamilton Fatally Shot by Burr?

As we all know, Hamilton and Burr had the infamous duel that almost caused America to lose both illustrious men at the same day. Luckily for them, both guns misfired and hit nearby trees. Now, what if one of the guns fired correctly and hit the more important man fatally?

Burr found a way to die in pain OTL, maybe he saves the Republic some undue grief with earlier death. I disagree with your whitewashing of history sir, Burr was as noble as a butchered sow's head on a spit.

We would lose one of the greatest philosophers and Vice Presidents this country ever had.....not to mention he was an abolitionist as well-he even convinced Thomas Jefferson to actually free all his slaves!(of course, it certainly helped that the two men had spent 20 years patching up their relationship after Hamilton's near brush with death)

I'm sorry if this seems pedantic, but both guns misfired and the bullets hit the trees? How did this happen? Did the deulers take the bullets out, after their guns misfired and hurl them at trees?

No, the guns hit the nearby trees - the men threw them in frustration.

Cheers,
Nigel.
Thanks, that point has been really puzzling me, it's a good thing they didn't throw them at each other, one of them could have been killed.

Nah, just a courtesy title. He was a VP even after all the treasons he committed against the Americas.

Would Hamilton or Burr still get a chance at the presidency if they had killed the other?

ooc: I didn't realize pedantry would lead to this, but this would have been hilarious to read in an ATL.

OOC: i just want to make sure I'm following this DBWI right. Both Hamilton and Burr survive the duel because the guns misfire (and presumably don't discharge after being thrown). In the DBWI context, is Hamilton the "more important man" revered to in the OP? I mean, I'm sure Aaron Burr has fans today, even ones that make sure they have milk with their peanut butter sandwiches. :D

ooc: depends on how you want to see it, which is why I kept that part ambiguous
