For Want of a Sail: A pop-culture timeline.

Introduction
"For want of a sail the boat was lost.
For want of a boat the hero was lost.
For want of a hero the princess was lost.
For want of a princess the kingdom was lost.
For want of a kingdom the world was lost.
And all for the want of a red lion's sail."

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker was released on March 24, 2003 to the North American market critical acclaim. Wind Waker is notable for being the first Zelda game to feature cel-shaded graphics. The game also has a massive overworld which is traversed by sailing, which most found to be fun and fast.

(So, basically, I've been wanting to write a timeline for a while. And I figured that some beta elements existing in one video game might change a lot. Since, ya know, for want of a nail. I hope you enjoy, if it actually is a good story. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.)

So the POD is people not cry over Cel-shaded graphics of WW here and this as acclaimed as Ocarina(alongside some new development tibdits i seen), so what is the rest of the plan?

(Well, technically, the developmental tidbits are the POD, them existing at all. Of course, they do help the game in the long run since the sailing became faster with each sail upgrade, which gave people less to complain about, leaving a few graphical naysayers, but no one really pays attention to them. Anywho, on to E3 2003!)

Los Angeles, Electronic Entertainment Expo, 2003
Nintendo has announced two new Zelda titles in the works, Four Swords for the Nintendo Gamecube and Tetra Trackers. Four Swords for the Nintendo Gamecube looks to have Link to the Past graphics but with gameplay focused on multiplayer.

On the other hand, Tetra Trackers is multiplayer spin-off where the players, represented by multicolored Links, search for Tetra's Pirate Crew, who are holding stamps, while in a maze. The player with the most stamps wins at the end. The main game takes place on Gameboy Advances while Tetra will narrate the game on the TV with a large map. This marks the first game to take place in the Zelda Universe where voice acting is used.

When i just used a friend GC, i did play all connectivity games(God Bless my GBA, whatever he is now) and always was waiting for that game.

Again the butterflies will be titanic, miyamoto original plans was making a Cel-Shaded Sequel of A Link to the past using Wind Waker Engine but the naysayer make it scrapped and we Got Twilight Princess(who was more modified the original idea, who was heavily japanese and cel-shaded rather medieval western was TP)

So we could have Wind Waker 2 as GC and Twilight princess exclusively for wii

The Rest, we could have more and better zelda with this, maybe nintendo pushing more GC, the rest nintendo need hunt down exclsuives, aim for DQVIII, Metal Gear Solid 3,etc.

(Well, I'm thinking that a better received Wind Waker graphical style will butterfly away Twilight Princess entirely, with it instead being TTL's *Phantom Hourglass.)

Backstory
100 years ago, a great war was fought between the forces of the Goddesses and the Demon forces led by a great evil sorcerer. The forces of the Goddesses won thanks to the tiny Picori, who brought a golden force and a sword blessed by the Goddesses themselves.
The evil was locked in a chest and sealed by the Goddess Sword. The Picori return every 100 years on the anniversary of the victory to celebrate with the humans.

Plot
Link is a soldier in training for the Hyrulean Royal Guard. The final ceremony is attended by both the Captain of the Guard, Madas; The King's royal adviser, Sturgeon; and Princess Zelda. After Link defeats the last of the guards, he is to be knighted in front of the bound chest. As Link kneels in front of the chest, Princess Zelda gets turned to stone by a mysterious figure named Vaati. He easily defeats the guards and steals the princess, breaking the sword that was sealing the chest in the process. Link is sent by the King to find the three gems of the races of Hyrule: the Deku Emerald, the Goron Ruby, and the three Zora Pearls; so he can reforge the Goddess blade. When Link leaves the castle, he comes upon a creature being attacked by monsters. Link save the creature, which introduces himself as Ezlo and tells Link who Vaati is. Vaati was an apprentice of Ezlo, both members of the Minish Race. Ezlo created a magic cap with the power the grant wishes. Vaati took the hat and wished himself to have the golden force told about in legends, and used his new found power to turn Ezlo into a hat. Ezlo hopped on Link's head and told him that he would help find the Picori to help find the three gems. Ezlo also gave Link the ability to shrink down to the size of the Picori. After collecting the three gems, Link reforged the Goddess Sword, but was unable to return it to full power so he could defeat Vaati. Link went to the four great temples of Hyrule, the Temple of Ice in Lake Hylia, the Temple of Earth in Death Mountain, the Temple of Wind in Faron Woods, and the Temple of Light in Hyrule Castle to collect the four flames of the gods.

Link was able to reforge the Goddess Sword into the Master Sword and set off to Hyrule Castle to defeat Vaati.

Meanwhile, Vaati brainwashed and trapped the King in a Hyrule Castle surrounded by Darkness. He discovered that only those of a pure heart can have the entire Golden Force. Part of it goes to the one who touched it, part of it goes to a member of a royal family, and the final piece goes to a descendant of the legendary hero who saved Hyrule. After Link vanquished Vaati, he used the Master Sword and his own piece of the Golden Force to restore Princess Zelda. Ezlo told Zelda to use the Mage Cap to restore Hyrule. Zelda wished that Vaati's cruelty be reversed and the combined power of the Mage Cap and the Golden Force restored Hyrule back to its previous state, including Ezlo. With Hyrule saved, the Master sword was placed in a temple in the center of Castle Town, sealing up the great evil created by Vaati. Ezlo returned to his shrunken state to return to his world, but he promised would return on the next celebration of the Hero, in 100 years.

(Well, there we go, on very large update to make up for the lack of one. Sorry it took so long, I wanted to make my Minish Cap update be the best looking one, since it is a lot easier to make "Screenshots" with 2D sprites.)

E3 2004: "Wind Waker 2" Trailer
E3 2004
The trailer begins with soft music
An overview of a cell-shaded Hyrule field is shown before transitioning to a beach where a small sail boat is docked. The scene changes again to a hoard of Bokoblins, both on foot and on large boars. The music swells as we see Link, riding his horse towards the hoard. He fights them on horseback and a short montage of Link fighting enemies, including Bokoblins, Moblins, a Dodongo, and a large Beamos like creature. The trailer ends with the Legend of Zelda coming soon and Link spins his sword around and sheaths it to the tune of the Zelda theme.

Cheers erupted from around the room.

IT'S ALIVE, IT'S ALIVE!!!

Well, originally TP was to get a lot of cel-shaded esque japanese design elements but those were lost because wind waker fiasco, maybe those are rescued for a land based wind waker? the rest amazing to revive this TL, with another zelda coming to GC it might help and maybe help having an original zelda for early life wii too.
